Regional Enterprise Development Centers (REDECs)
Egypt SME is a network of four Egyptian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working in the field of supporting small and medium enterprises. This network is established within Small & Medium Enterprise Development Project in Upper Egypt in partnership with the Foundation for International Training (FIT). The three Regional Enterprise Development Center (REDECs) are local NGOs working as services providers, to provide the services directly to the entrepreneurs in their local governorates, namely in Beni-Suef, Sohag and Qena.
REDECs Free Services
- Promote SMEs and SMEs growth for jobs creation,
- Clients receiving and screening,
- Business diagnosis report,
- Provide advise on technology upgrading/improvement to enhance competitiveness,
- Provide advise on products development , Coordinate feasibility study (marketing-technical and financial),
- Provision of information and advise on Sources for Equipments and Raw materials ,
- Facilitate link with the bank,
Roles of El Mobadara with REDECs:
1- REDECs Capacity Building
- Identify and analysis institutional training needs
- Provide training programs to enhance the board’s capacity
- Provide training to Boards and executives on strategic planning
- Facilitate strategic plans development
- Facilitate annual work planning
- Monthly monitoring for REDECs activities
- Facilities REDECs interior regulations and procedures manuals development/updating
2- REDECs Executives
- Update jobs descriptions and assist in executive’s recruitment
- Develop/update programs procedures manuals
- Provide technical and managerial training to executives to perform their duties
3- Business Technical and managerial Support
- Provide training to the project staff on the technical assistance package, will be provide to SMEs
- Develop and update technical assistance package
- Develop monitoring and evaluation plans
- Assure and act as quality control for all technical assistance services provided by REDECs staff
- Provide counseling and advises to problematic business
4- Management Information Systems
- Update, develop data bases for business, suppliers and trainers
- Provide training to MIS specialists
- Analyze information according to jobs created, sectors of business, gender of owners and workers, quality of jobs
and business categorization
5- Gender & Environment
- Update, develop gender policies and procedures
- Provide training for staff to maintain gender balance among the project’s beneficiaries
- Assure ender balance among the project’s beneficiaries
- Assure that all business supported are environmental safe
- Monitor business safety procedures
- Support REDECs to undertake environment & safety mitigation procedures
6- Reports & Surveys
- Submit regular reports to Donors about the project
- Coordinate field surveys concerning jobs created-gender roles-environment and other surveys required
